Penelope update...

Penelope is now 6 and a half months old and is getting super huge! We just had her 6 month well baby exam on Friday. She is now 27 1/2 inches long and weighs 15 lbs 10 oz! That puts her in the 95th percentile for height and the 50th for weight - she's going to be a tall girl!
At 6 months old, Penelope can sit unsupported pretty well (she still falls over once in a while), she can roll all the way over with ease, can wave hello, is on 3 solid meals a day and is already starting to eat finger foods. She has two teeth, can make "silly faces" on command, she loves to babble and to sing! Her favorite game is throwing her toys onto the floor from her high chair and loves to watch her puppies and older children play. Her favorite song is "Five Green and Speckled Frogs" - even when in a bad mood, if you sing it to her, she will light up and squeal in delight. She likes to rip and chew on just about anything - especially paper. She loves being read to and will love you if you feed her off of your plate.
She is a super swimmer! and loves to go on the swings at the park... and giggles on bumpy stroller rides to said park :) ... she sleeps pretty well through the night and will "go down" awake. Her bedtime is usually between 8:30 and 9:00 pm. She still wakes up for a snack around 4, then sleeps in until anywhere between 8:00 and 10:00 am... but that usually means that she won't take a nap during the day!
To say that she enjoys bath time would be an understatement. We've had to start placing her baby tub inside the big bath tub now because she splashes so much. She has even figured out that she needs to lean her body back a bit so that she can kick in the water! She loves playing with rubber bath toys and doesn't mind when water dribbles over her face when I'm washing her hair.
We have been very active these past few weeks. Weather permitting, we usually go to the park every day. Within the past month, we have been to the zoo, the public museum, the art museum, up north to visit Nana and Papa, the Antigo aquatic center, down to the lake front/marina, and still attend our "mommy and me" group every Thursday. We have also been fortunate to be able to visit our friends, Seamus and little brother, Kieran as well as Grayson and baby sister, Elle!

We're definitely enjoying the warm weather we have been having and cannot wait for it to get even warmer so that we can get a little pool and maybe even a sand box for the back yard!

Penelope's 6 month portraits!

We had Penelope's 6 month portrait session yesterday and already got back our "sneak peek" pics - so we thought that we would share them! We cannot wait to see the rest!

We have been busy busy busy lately. Penelope now has two pretty, white chompers (you can kind of see them in the above picture... they're right on the bottom!) She is officially a sitter, can roll over with ease and is on solids! We also took her swimming for the first time last week and she loved it! She was in the water for over an hour and hardly made a peep! Surprisingly, it didn't harm her eczema either, so we're definitely looking in to taking her again sometime soon :)
