winding down

It's not the best picture (the colors are a little weird)... but I'm still super excited for the nursery to be coming along! I finished making the wall art on Tuesday and think that they look awesome with the crib. You can also kind of see the crib skirt that I made. I had such a hard time finding a bedding set that I liked... so I just said heck with it and decided to try my hand at creating my own. So glad I did!
Things are winding down now - less than four weeks left to go! Alan and I could not be more excited. This coming Saturday we have a maternity portrait session scheduled and Sunday we have our breast feeding classes. We have started packing our hospital bags and have our final list of "baby needs" getting shorter and shorter.

For those who plan to visit we plan to deliver at the Aurora West Allis Hospital - in the Woman's Pavilion at 7220 W. National Ave. 8901 West Lincoln Ave. in West Allis. Alan will be in charge of a calling everyone when Penelope decides she wants out :) My obstetrician said that I shouldn't expect any complications and to anticipate a smooth delivery because of Penny's desirable size (we should expect her to be between 6.5 - 7 lbs.) and he says that I have a "ripe cervix" ... so that is good to hear!

I've still been having it pretty easy as far as pregnancy goes. Some normal aches and pains in my back and right side and, with the pressure of my organs pressing against my lungs, my asthma has been acting up more. Lately my feet have been swelling, which gets annoying, but I just have to make sure that I am able to put my feet up every once in a while and to keep hydrated. Last week was my last week at The Goddard School, which was perfect timing because when my feet do swell, I cannot fit into my shoes! (I will continue to nanny for Grayson on Mondays and Wednesdays up until my due date.) Despite the swelling Alan and I are still able to find fun things to do - this past weekend we went to the fair and to the Brewer's game - we also went to see District 9 and got some baby shopping done.
