Wedding Wedding Wedding!

I forgot to mention on this blog that Alan and I have FINALLY set the date for our wedding! We got married in a court room about a year ago, but never really wanted to consider it as our wedding. We've been dancing around having an actual wedding for over 5 years now and finally we have the date set and the location reserved!

It will be here in Milwaukee, WI on April 23rd, 2011 at the South Shore Park Pavilion!!! We'll have a short re-commitment ceremony followed my a lovely reception. Since the wedding is the day before Easter, we will have an Easter brunch to following morning to celebrate the holiday with wine and an Easter egg hunt as well as open our wedding gifts :)

For all that are interested, I have started another blog - mostly as a place to keep track of ideas and thoughts that I have / find during the wedding planning process. Later on, it will be where I blog about our family, but will probably be keeping this blog just to blog exclusively about Penelope.

If you click the title of this entry, it should take you to our other blog. Otherwise, the web address is: primmpeople.blogspot.com/

Some of our favorite pictures from the past month or so :)

Penelope LOVES her puppy, Sophie! Wherever Penny is, Sophie HAS to be there - they're so cute together!

We have officially started finger foods full time now! She started refusing purees a couple of weeks ago, but other than that, she is a very good eater! Definitely not a picky girl. For dinner here, we have fish, bread, steamed cauliflower, and blueberries (her current favorite!)

Rub-a-dub-dub Penny's in the tub! No more baby bath tub for this little girl! She's now taking her baths in the big bathtub!

I have started to watch my friend's two sons on Wednesdays - here is Penny at the park with the younger of the two, Kieran. (He just had his first birthday on May 26th!)

We spent a whole week up in Northern Wisconsin at my Parents' house last week! We had family parties going on two weekends in a row, so we decided to stay up the whole week. The photo above is from Penelope's cousin, Zoe Jane's 2nd Birthday party! We have a photo like this from Zoe's 1st Birthday too - when Penny was in my tummy :) ... now Zoe's mommy, Jessica has a baby in her tummy! Next year there will be 3 babies in the picture... and possibly a baby in my tummy again? Alan calls it the "assembly line of babies" :P

I found this vintage Cookie Monster chair at a rummage sale for 50 cents. My cousins Matthew and Jason had chairs like this when we were kids and I was always jealous of them. Now Penny has one and she loves it! She is so proud of herself when she sits in it! (Here she's clapping her hands - she does "patty cake" when she gets excited!)

Penelope loves her Papa Geurink!

She has been becoming such a snuggle bug and a daddy's girl! ...which is a HUGE relief to mommy and her "girls"! They're so precious together :)

Penelope LOVE LOVE LOVES the water! We're in the water almost every day! When up north at my parents last week, we took her swimming to two different local pools. She relaxes so much in the water that she can float on her back all by herself!

Penelope at the park :) When it is warm out, we make a point to go to the park at least once a day. She loves going on the swings and playing in the sand (she also likes to eat the sand).

It's amazing how much she changes every month! It's hard to believe that my little coconut will be nine months old next weekend. Time really does fly when you're having fun!

New stuff from this month: She is eating finger foods, sitting very sturdily and can turn herself around while sitting. She has begun to army crawl and has crawled a pace or two on a few occasions. She can clap her hands (and even makes noise!), sings "lalala" and "bababa" to certain songs, makes the sign for "all done" when she is done eating and will duck her head down and pop herself up over and over again to play "peek-a-boo"! She can also stretch her arms up when you say "sooooo big" or "stretch"!

Cotton Babies :)

I cannot say enough about how much I love using cloth diapers! I am so glad that we made the switch and wish that I had known enough about them to start using them with Penelope from the beginning! We have been using cloth diapers since Penelope was 2 months old and am glad to say that we will NEVER being going back to traditional disposable diapers! We are currently using diapers completely from the Bum Genius company. This includes their Flip and Econobum lines. We love them all and do not plan to switch to a different cloth diaper company!
I just thought that I would share the below links, it is where we have been purchasing our diapers from lately, since our local retailer closed it's doors in February.
