Time is winding down and we're wishing that it would slow down! Only about 8 more weeks to go until Penelope is here! We're super excited for her to be coming soon but there is still so much that needs to be done! I just bought the fabric for her curtains and bedding and some supplies for some wall art - so I'm super anxious to see how it will come together once it is all finished.
We had our latest obstetrician visit on Friday and Penny is back to being on the smaller side... we were measuring perfectly about a month ago, but now my belly is measuring a few cm. smaller. The doctor said that it could just be the position she's in, but most likely she will just be an average sized baby when she is born - at about 6.5 pounds... which is alright by me. I'd be glad not to have the 8-10 pound babies that run in both of our families... especially considering how big Alan's noggin is :)
The baby shower last weekend was wonderful! Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone for the wonderful gifts! I'm so relieved to have it out of the way though - now to start the lists of stuff we still need! Many of which I did a good job of crossing off yesterday when I went shopping with the money we had gotten from our Baby Shower gifts!
We were also fortunate to win a raffle from a high end baby boutique downtown. Alan and I had gone to an event they were having on Friday to learn about Milwaukee's cloth diapering service and there was a man showing the latest bottle feeding technology. I entered their raffle and luckily convinced Alan to put his name in too because his was picked! We won a big bag of fancy baby feeding supplies... a sippy cup, a splash mat (that I guess would go under the high chair), a food press (for making home made baby food), some fancy fruit storage containers, and a Bum Genius cloth diaper with matching onesie and leg warmers... which is probably the best part because Bum Genius happens to be the brand of diapers we will be using.
Not much for any other news... thought that I would post some pictures from the 4th of July weekend. First time in history that we have gotten the whole family together! The first is a picture of the whold group - my parents, all 6 of my siblings, their spouses, my spouse, and all of my nieces... even little Penelope bump. The second picture is the first pic of all 6 of us siblings! It was a great weekend and I hope we can do it again sometime!

... obviously the height gene was used more generously on some of us :) Michelle and I are bent over to be kind...

More wedding photos...
We had some more formal wedding photos taken for our marriage announcements. Alan's going to edit them more for printing purposes but they're super cute so I thought that I would share them now anyway...

...we ended up just going to the Boerner Botanical Gardens and setting up our digital camera on the tripod... not as nice of quality as our photographer friend would have been able to do... but, hey, it ended up saving us about three hundred dollars!

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Primm
Well it is official - as of June 19th, 2009 we are husband and wife! We were wed at the Milwaukee County Courthouse at 3:00pm - Rebecca's Mother, her sister, Michelle, and Alan's Aunt, Sue were in attendance. We were lucky - it was raining that day but it cleared up for us to take some nice outdoors photos after the wedding.

Crib, oh glorious crib!

Our crib was delivered on Tuesday and it is beautiful! It is fully assembled... for the 2nd time... and is loads more awesome than I thought it would be. It's a little bit more modern looking than I'm use to - but I'm glad I took the leap to buy a "cool crib." I love it - it has really nice dark wood on the head a foot ends, so it fits in with our other furniture really well. It should look really cute with the decor I have in mind too...
Alan and I originally assembled it in the living room, where we would have more room to put it together... big mistake... once assembled, we tried carrying it into the nursery to find out that it was too wide for the door frame! Alan knew it would happen too... but we still didn't take a piece of the crib over to the the door to check... I was hell bent on getting it assembled.
...so we had to un-assemble it then re-assemble it in the nursery. Well worth it - it's a super sturdy piece and was relatively inexpensive. Should give us the 4+ years of use we need it for.
Other baby news - the big debate has been what Penelope's middle name should be. So far we have two options: Ann and Lane.
Ann: My middle name is Ann, Alan's Grandmother's name is Anne, Alan's Mom's middle name is Anne, and my Great-Grandmother's name is Ann - so it's sentimental buuuuut... her initials would spell PAP (like pap smear... which I do not like). Plus Penny Ann can sound really nasal-ey when said wrong.
Lane: Penelope (Penny) Lane Primm... Penny Lane... as in the Beatles song. I think it's super cute, but Alan needs convincing.

26 week update!

The photos above are actually from a few weeks ago at about 23 weeks preggers - tomorrow marks 26 weeks already!
Penny has been bumping around her mothers innards pretty good at this point and her heart rate is good as well. Though, since Becky's tummy is a little on the small side, it has been recommended that we have another ultra sound to make certain little Penny is still on track as far as her growth goes. She is also lying sideways right now - and since Becky has a tilted pelvis, we just want to make certain that Penny will be able to turn all the way around to be facing down-ward.
Invitations for the baby shower should be sent out soon! The date has been set for July 11th in Schofield, WI! So far we don't have a whole lot - we have ordered the crib and bought a car seat and stroller combo. Other than that we have just been picking up outfits here and there as well as board books and keep-sake items. We plan to use cloth diapers - but will be using disposable wipes.

Four Months and Counting!
In just four short months Penelope Primm will be thrust into this world kicking, screaming and covered in goo. As a way of keeping all of our friends and family who are scattered across the world updated on Penny's progress, Becky and I decided to create this blog where we will post regular updates, photos and videos.
